Hithium Lands 120 GWh Mega-Order for Energy Storage

According to an official release, on 5 December Hithium Energy Storage Co. signed a strategic supply agreement with the Integrated Energy Division of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute.

From 2026 to 2030 Hithium will deliver no less than 120 GWh of storage products to CRRC Zhuzhou, including its 314 Ah cell and the ∞Cell family in 587 Ah and 1 175 Ah formats. The deal goes beyond volume supply: the two parties will also cooperate end-to-end on smart storage, C&I applications, shared-storage parks and distributed systems, aligning on large-scale deployment, fast delivery, technology innovation and industrial synergies to accelerate the global energy transition.

The signing was witnessed by Tang Yua-yuan, Deputy General Manager of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, and Wu Zu-yu, Founder & Chairman of Hithium. The agreement was formally executed by Zang Xiao-di, Deputy GM of the Integrated Energy Division, and Wu Yu-yuan, President of Hithium China Sales Centre.

The alliance combines two global top-three players. In 2024 the world’s storage-system integrators shipped 418.3 GWh, up 92.7 % year-on-year; CRRC Zhuzhou ranked third behind Tesla and Sungrow. For the same year Hithium placed third in global storage-cell shipments, after CATL and EVE. Since its first deliveries at the end of 2021, Hithium has now shipped more than 100 GWh (as of August 2025).

The ∞Cell series is central to the partnership. The 1 175 Ah cell is purpose-built for long-duration storage; the 587 Ah version, exactly half the capacity, shares the same system architecture, cutting R&D and production costs while covering “multi-duration, multi-scenario” markets worldwide. The 587 Ah cell was released in 2024, entered mass production in August 2025 and is already deployed in CRRC Zhuzhou’s latest 6.X MWh systems. The 1 175 Ah cell began mass production in June 2025—the world’s first >1 000 Ah storage cell—and in October completed the first global delivery of 6.25 MWh / 4-hour long-duration systems.
