Zhuhai COSMX has already begun mass-producing 25 % silicon-rich anode batteries

Zhuhai COSMX has already begun mass-producing 25 % silicon-rich anode batteries whose volumetric energy density reaches 900 Wh/L.

At a recent investor briefing the company said it is co-developing and internally designing new materials for silicon-anode cells. Raising energy density is a core goal for lithium-ion technology, and incorporating high-capacity silicon into the anode is one of the most effective routes. In the first half of the year COSMX successfully ramped 25 % Si-anode batteries; thanks to the higher silicon fraction the cells deliver 900 Wh/L, placing them at the industry forefront. The firm will keep pushing the silicon content higher while maintaining stable performance.

Earlier, realme and COSMX jointly unveiled the world’s first 100 % silicon-carbon anode battery, fitted inside a 15 000 mAh concept phone only 6.48 mm thick (≤ 9 mm for the whole device) that lasts five days on a single charge.
COSMX is also expanding into sodium-ion and solid-state chemistries.

For sodium-ion it has leveraged its mature LFP starter-battery platform to produce a first-generation Na-ion starter cell that gives cars more stable, efficient low-temperature power.

On the solid-state front the company is already shipping semi-solid batteries to an expanding customer base and is developing all-solid-state samples that show good safety and cycle life.

According to its latest guidance, Q3 2025 revenue is expected at RMB 4.1–4.3 billion (+29–36 % YoY) and net profit attributable to shareholders at RMB 250–300 million (+50–81 % YoY). Growth in the first nine months was driven by fast-rising demand from consumer-electronics majors, power-battery, drone and wearable segments, with consumer-cell shipments leading the way; several key customers launched new products in Q3, lifting COSMX volumes.

Consumer lithium-ion batteries supply ~90 % of COSMX revenue, powering notebooks, tablets, smartphones, wearables and consumer drones. Smartphone customers include Apple, Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, OPPO, vivo and Samsung.

China smartphone shipments were roughly 343 M, 264 M, 276 M and 294 M units in 2021-2024; IDC puts 1H-2025 China volume at 140 M units, down 0.6 % and essentially flat. Since COSMX listed, the consumer-electronics sector weathered a downturn that is now easing: 2024 saw notebook and smartphone growth turn positive, and 1H-2025 stayed in the black under national 3C subsidy policy, lifting COSMX results in tandem.

From Q3 2025 blockbuster launches—iPhone 17 series, Xiaomi 17 series, vivo X300 series, etc.—have boosted orders, with Apple and Samsung contributing especially high volumes.

Beyond phones, COSMX’s consumer-drone battery revenue rose nearly 60 % in 2024; the company is sampling humanoid-robot packs and is already co-developing low-voltage automotive lithium packs with several leading OEMs.
