On July 11, POSCO HOLDINGS announced its medium- to long-term business plans at its 2023 Secondary Battery Material Business Value Day meting held at POSCO Center in the Gangnam district of Seoul.
More specifically, the plan is to achieve a lithium production capacity of 423,000 tons and sales of 13.6 trillion won (US$10.5 billion) by 2030. They aim to secure 240,000 tons of high-purity nickel and target sales of 3.8 trillion won.
Through the recycling business, they plan to secure a production capacity of 70,000 tons of materials such as lithium, nickel, and cobalt and achieve sales of 2.2 trillion won.


With the secured materials, they aim to establish a production system of 1 million tons of cathode material and target sales of 36.2 trillion won by 2030. For the anode material, they plan to achieve sales of 5.2 trillion won through a production system of 370,000 tons.
They also announced their plan to produce 9,400 tons of next-generation secondary battery materials and achieve total sales of 62 trillion won by 2030. This is an upward adjustment of 51% compared to last year.
