Market data shows that in 2019, when the new national standard was just implemented, China’s lithium battery shipments for two-wheeled vehicles reached 5.6GWh, an increase of 62% year-on-year; in 2020, China’s lithium battery shipments for electric two-wheeled vehicles went further, reaching as high as 10.7Gwh, a year-on-year increase of 91.1%. At the same time, public data shows that the average number of two-wheel trips in China per day exceeds 1 billion, of which 700 million are electric vehicles (including shared mopeds). The number of electric bicycles and motorcycles reached 400 million, with an annual increase of 46 million.
Based on the huge increase in electric two-wheeled vehicles and the further increase in the penetration rate of lithium batteries, more and more people have entered in recent years, including vehicle companies, shared motorcycle companies, battery companies, and companies in other fields.
