2015 International Needle Coke And Graphite Electrode Summit Forum
Supervised by: China Carbon Industry Association
Organized by:Shanghai Xinluo Network Technology Co.,Ltd
Date: April 9-10, 2015
Conference Background
In 2014, faced with "lower price", "restructuring", "price war", "anti-dumping cases", China's graphite electrode industry found its demand for needle coke showed a declining trend in both quantities and price. In 2014, steel prices fell more than 10%, and the steel sector topped the list of excess capacity. According to the Environmental Protection Law implemented starting Jan.1, 2015 and Emission Standard of Air Pollutants, enterprises with excessive emissions are subject to heavy fines, a move aimed at pushing for the industrial restructuring and upgrading. The Plan for Industrial Transformation and Upgrading of Steel Sector (2015-2025) to be released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will bring about obvious adverse factors in the short-term, although it will help boost the industrial transformation and upgrading of the steel and iron industry in the long run. From a long-term perspective, it will shore up the development of graphite electrode industry in a sustained, sound, and stable manner.
In 2014, needle coke application in the field of lithium battery anode materials achieved new breakthroughs. According to the statistics from ICC News, the growth rate of anode materials reached 35% and its demand for needle coke came to 8,000 tons in 2014, owing to the rapid growth in demand from lithium battery market in the downstream sector. ICC News forecasts by 2020, the annual demand for needle coke from anode materials arena will exceed 40,000 tons.
The new year carries new expectations. "2015 International Needle Coke And Graphite Electrode Summit Forum" is dedicated to providing an all-dimensional platform for all attendees to exchange ideas, and conduct in-depth analysis on the developmental trend and policy formulation of the steel market and anode materials market. ICC News looks forward to your participation!
