ICCSINO: This month, coal pitch prices rose sharply, with modified pitch prices at the end of the month increasing to 4,600-4,700 yuan/ton, up 21.57%, and medium-temperature pitch prices rising 24.48% to 4,550-5,000 yuan/ton. The price increase was supported by rising raw material coal tar prices and strong cost support. Additionally, the low operating rate of coal pitch factories this month resulted in low supply. With support from both the cost and supply sides, coal pitch prices rose. Downstream procurement sentiment gradually improved, with main demand from prebaked anode enterprises actively stockpiling, and coal-based needle coke enterprises resuming production, increasing demand for coal pitch. Graphite electrode demand remained rigid. Raw material coal tar prices are expected to continue rising, and coal pitch prices are expected to follow suit.
