Needle coke market stabilizes on the whole, price remains low in October: Monthly review

ICC News: Jinzhou Petrochemical and Anshan Research Institute of Thermo-Energy are the only two major enterprises in operation this month while production at all others were at halt.
Anshan Research Institute of Thermo-Energy resumed operation after the National Day. According to the chief of needle coke production department of the company, this month is a merely transition period toward normal production by the middle of next month, so production of this month is limited.
On the price side, as of this week, mainstay price at Jinzhou petrochemical is 4,600 yuan/ton and price of green coke is 3,600 yuan/ton; mainstay price at Baosteel Chemical is 4,300 yuan/ton;
mainstay price at Anshan Research Institute of Thermo-Energy is 5,000 yuan/mt.
On the import market, for petroleum needle coke, offer price from Japan's Petrocokes Ltd is $1,300 (HSP $1,400), that from Phillips 66 is $800(HSP $850), and that from JX Holdings is $900.
For coal-based needle coke, the price is $700-750 from C-Chem and $950-1,000 from Mitsubishi Chemical.
