ICC News: Needle coke market seemed to be mired in cloud this month. In the domestic market front, Sinosteel Corporation Anshan Research Institute Of Thermo-energy basically has little chance to resume production this month. Hongte Chemical now produces 3,500-4,000 tons of needle coke a month with average performance in sales. Jinzhou Petrochemical remain operation at normal pace, while sales slightly dip compared to the same period in previous time. Statistics show China's petroleum-based needle coke imports totaled 1,537 tons, down 75.02% year-on-year. Major import sources include the US, Japan and German. China's coal-based needle coke imports totaled 2,551 tons, down 44.64% year-on-year. Major import source is Japan.
