According to data issued by ICCSINO, the battery industry has achieved a growth rate of 34.6% by 2025, with the energy storage sector poised for an even more remarkable surge of 70%. This reflects a thriving scenario driven by dual demand from both domestic and international markets, coupled with a synchronized explosion across the upstream and downstream supply chains.
Malaysia has emerged as a pivotal hub in the global battery industry supply chain. By 2025, Chinese battery industry enterprises have invested over RMB 26 billion in Malaysia, spanning the entire industrial chain, including battery cells, separators, anode materials, and other key segments, thereby fostering a relatively complete industrial ecosystem. Against this backdrop, the rise of emerging markets in Southeast Asia has injected fresh impetus into the global battery industry, fueling the demand for cross-regional and cross-sectoral technological exchanges and collaborations.
To establish a dialogue platform for global battery industry elites, pool corporate practical experience with academic research insights from universities, and jointly explore new pathways for industrial development, the 2026 International Battery Industry Conference (Kuala Lumpur) is scheduled to take place from April 22-24, 2026, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Co-hosted by ICCSINO and Xiamen University Malaysia, this conference will be grounded in Southeast Asia while reaching out globally. It will focus on addressing core industry challenges and cutting-edge trends, aiming to foster collaborative innovation across the supply chain, drive the commercialization of technological advancements, optimize global resource allocation, and support the high-quality and sustainable development of the battery industry.
